Hello All, It is that time again. We will be volunteering to run the Bocce Courts at the State Fair again this year. The old courts have been taken down and we have built new courts on the Sunnyview Rd side of the fairgrounds on the south/East side of the Pavilion Building. This year we will be renting out the courts to raise funds to help pay for the new courts as we will not be allowed to sell water. This will allow us to spend more time with the players teaching and helping them.
The fair starts on Friday August 26, 2011 and runs through Labor day. Mark will really need some help for the first week end of the 26th, 27th and 28th as he has softball responsibilities going on that weekend. So if you can help out at the courts please contact Mark by either e-mail or phone. I will be out of town until the 28th so please do not respond to this email. We would like to have volunteers work each day in 3 shifts. You are welcome to volunteer for as little or as much as you can work. We would like it to be from 10:00am to 1:00pm, 1:00pm to 5:00pm and then 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The courts are in the Recreation Destination section of the fair with the rock climbing, bowling, camping, motor cross etc so we hope to have a whole new group of people. Tell every one you know about the new courts and to let their friend know that the courts have been moved but are still available to play on.
As far as I know you will have to enter the fairgrounds on 17th Street entrance again to check your name off the daily lists, but if you volunteer you will get free entrance and then after your shifts you can enjoy the fair. So contact Mark and sign up for a couple of days. We would like to have two people at the courts each day from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Thanks for all you help and lets play Bocce!
